Stanford CTSA Colloquium on Research Rigor and Reproducibility on January 29th

The Stanford CTSA’s Program on Research Rigor & Reproducibility (SPORR), will be hosting a Rigor and Reproducibility Colloquium: Conversations on how to future-proof our science on January 29th, 2024.    

 

The Colloquium will focus on the efforts of several CTSA institutions to strengthen the robustness, validity, and transparency of research. It will feature plenary talks from Dr. Geeta K. Swamy (Associate Vice President for Research, and Vice Dean for Scientific Integrity at Duke University) and Dr. Alexa McCray (Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School), together with panel discussions with Stanford faculty and participation of attendees.  

 

SPORR will also present the findings of their recently conducted CTSA wide survey on Rigor & Reproducibility training, as well as showcase support, monitoring, and educational programs in place at the Stanford School of Medicine. Rigor and Reproducibility (RaRe) Investigator awards will be presented for Stanford individuals or teams who have demonstrated excellence in those domains.  

 

The Colloquium is free to attend in person or virtually, but registration is required. More details about the Colloquium can be found at the SPORR Colloquium website, where a link will be made available a few days before the event for those who want to join through Zoom.   

 

SPORR, directed by Associate Dean Steven Goodman, M.D., M.H.S., Ph.D., is part of Spectrum, Stanford’s Center for Clinical and Translational Research and Education, directed by Dr. Ruth O’Hara.
