Georgia CTSA Leader Co-Authors NASEM Report Calling for Changes to How Biomedical Research Uses Race and Ethnicity

A new National Academies report assesses current use of race and ethnicity in biomedical research and provides recommendations to guide future use. Elizabeth Ofili, M.D., M.P.H., Georgia Clinical and Translational Science Alliance Principal Investigator, Morehouse School of Medicine, served as a committee member and co-author. The report, Rethinking Race and Ethnicity in Biomedical Research, outlines nine actionable recommendations and associated resources for advancing the responsible use of race and ethnicity.
