Learning Health Systems-CTSA Partnerships

Overview

This Working Group aims to enhance the impact of CTSA hubs on health and healthcare by facilitating the growth and maturation of partnerships with their local learning health systems (LHSs). As the Institute of Medicine described in 2013, research is critical to LHS success, and the impact of translational research relies on models, such as an LHS, to implement research findings. This Working Group will cultivate the synergies of LHS-CTSA partnerships by:

  • Launching a sustainable Community of Practice with members from CTSA hubs, LHS leaders and clinicians, and other interest holders,
  • Developing and disseminating a user-friendly Best Practice Resource for initiating and sustaining LHS-CTSA partnerships, and
  • Developing and disseminating a compilation of success stories describing how LHS-CTSA partnerships move the needle toward integrating practice and research to improve health and healthcare.
