Penn State CTSI's Community Partner Toolkit now available: The Community-facing Toolkit is Designed to Educate Learners About the Importance of Community-engaged Research

The CTSI's Community Health Equity & Engagement in Research (CHEER) Team has launched a community-facing toolkit for researchers to share with their community partners! The Community Partner Toolkit is designed to educate learners about the importance of community-engaged research (CEnR), guiding CEnR principles to support meaningful engagement, and strategies to develop and maintain successful community-academic partnerships.

Weaved throughout each section are real-world, evidence-based best practices and resources geared for nontraditional research partners, with specific focus on the mutual benefits of partnering.

Also check out the CHEER Researcher Toolkit for researcher-facing tools and resources!

The CHEER program, a partnership between SSRI and CTSI at Penn State, promotes community-engaged research (CEnR) across all Penn State campuses, spanning many disciplines, with the overall goal of enhancing wellness and reducing health disparities. It is the landing place for faculty who seek to engage communities in their research and for community organizations and members to engage with Penn State expertise.

To learn more about the work of CHEER, please contact the CHEER team at CHEER@pennstatehealth.psu.edu or request a consult!
