In July 2025, 21 community health workers (CHWs) completed the pilot of the Community Health Worker Certification Program, an initiative developed by the University of Southern California Office of Health Affairs and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The program was created to strengthen the CHW workforce in Southern California by equipping participants with the skills and knowledge needed to address chronic disease, promote health, and connect community members to care.
