Wake Forest CTSI Pilot Program: Supporting Research and Collaboration

The Wake Forest Clinical and Translational Science Institute’s (CTSI) Pilot Program is a driving force behind groundbreaking research and new collaborations. By providing timely funding and expert support, the CTSI pilot program empowers researchers to gather preliminary data, launch innovative projects, and build strong partnerships—even when traditional funding is hard to secure.

 

Dr. Christina Hugenschmidt’s experience demonstrates the program’s impact. CTSI pilot funding enabled her to collect essential data for her K-award application and helped her launch new projects, build institutional resources, and collaborate with other teams. The program’s support has led to long-running collaborations, funded R01 projects, presentations at major scientific conferences, and publications in respected journals.
