The Wake Forest Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) has launched a new online learning module, Translational Research and the Science of Translation, developed through a collaboration between the Workforce Development Program, Clinical and Translational Science Pilot Program, and Dissemination, Implementation, and Continuous Quality Improvement (DICQI) Program. This self-paced resource helps researchers, trainees, and research professionals understand the distinction between translational research and the science of translation, recognize common barriers that slow the movement of discoveries into practice, and explore strategies that can accelerate impact across the translational spectrum.

Designed for investigators at all career stages, the module introduces key translational science principles and highlights approaches that can help reduce delays in moving evidence-based discoveries from the laboratory, clinic, and community into practice. Through practical examples and real-world applications, learners gain a deeper understanding of how translational science can strengthen research processes and improve health outcomes.

By bringing together expertise from multiple CTSA program areas, the module reflects Wake Forest CTSI's commitment to building translational science competencies and equipping the research workforce with tools to move discoveries more efficiently from research to real-world health improvements.
