Engaging Community Stakeholders in Clinical Research Staff Training

Research coordinators are the critical link for recruitment and retention in clinical research. Tufts CTSI conducts twice-yearly trainings to teach clinical research staff practical skills of communicating informed consent. In these trainings, former research participants act as simulated patients to role play real world recruitment scenarios in a low-stakes context. Details on the evolution and effectiveness of this training and the role of community stakeholders can be found in the article “Community Engaged Informed Consent Training”*. Now Tufts CTSI is looking for collaborators to continue improving and expand the reach of this innovative program. For more information about how you can partner with Tufts CTSI on this program, email Kris Markman at training@tuftsctsi.org and include “Informed Consent Training” in the subject line.
