UTHealth Houston Adapting Evidence-based Interventions: An Intervention Mapping Approach

This is a hybrid course and will be available virtually and in-person at the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health.

 

Learning Areas

  1. Assess your population and setting.
  2. Find evidence-based interventions (EBIs) with promise to meet your community's needs.
  3. Map and compare EBIs to your community assessment to make adaptation decisions.
  4. Evaluate the adapted EBI.

 

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the steps for Intervention Mapping for Adaptation (IM-Adapt).
  2. Demonstrate how to apply the IM-Adapt process for adapting an evidence-based intervention.

 

Methods

IM-Adapt steps include documenting community needs, identifying EBIs and assessing basic fit, documenting the EBI’s logic and making adaptation decisions, planning for implementation, and evaluating the adapted EBI.

 

Fee: $250

 

Faculty include Jacob Szeszulski, Ph.D, Patricia Dolan Mullen, Dr.P.H., and Eunyoung Kang, Ph.D.
