We are thrilled to announce that Henry Xiang, M.D., Ph.D., M.P.H, M.B.A., has been awarded the 2025 SAVIR Excellence in Violence and Injury Prevention Science Award. This prestigious honor, presented by the Society for Advancement of Violence and Injury Research (SAVIR), recognizes scientists who have made significant and enduring contributions to injury policy and practice through leadership, research and service in the field of violence and injury prevention.
Dr. Xiang is co-director of The Ohio State University Clinical and Translational Science Institute’s Pilot Translational Clinical Studies Program, a tenured professor at Ohio State’s College of Medicine and the founding director of the Center for Pediatric Trauma Research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Throughout his career, Dr. Xiang has been at the forefront of developing strategies to reduce injuries and violence, particularly focusing on improving public health outcomes.
