Executive Summary
The CTSA Visiting Scholar Program was designed as a means to establish a set of meetings between “visiting” KL2 scholars and their peers at different hubs. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Phase 1 of this program consisted of 56 virtual meetings. After the conclusion of this round of visiting scholars, a unique REDCap survey link was sent to the KL2 directors and/or PIs of participating hubs. This was followed by two subsequent weekly reminders. At the conclusion of the online data collection, 25 responses were received from the total of 27 hubs, for a final response rate of 92.6%. The evaluation examines how well the program goals were achieved. This report of the evaluation addresses overall satisfaction, any facilitators and/or challenges to planning these visits, and any improvements that could be made to the program in the future. The majority of respondents “Agreed” or “Strongly Agreed” that hearing scholar talks was highly valuable to their own scholars/programs (n=21, 84.0%). Nearly all respondents also indicated it was “Likely” or “Extremely Likely” that their hub would participate in another round of the Visiting Scholars Program in the future (n=23, 92.0%). The survey included open-ended questions, for which attendees were asked to describe anything new they learned or the most helpful aspect of attending the Un Meeting. All comments are shown in the report.
