Principles for AI Translation in Healthcare

Overview

The Principles for AI Translation in Healthcare (PATH) Working Group is a CTSA-led initiative focused on advancing the responsible, scalable integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into clinical and translational research. Building on national guidance from the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI), the group aims to operationalize principles such as fairness, transparency, and accountability within academic medical centers (AMCs). PATH will develop implementation-ready frameworks, governance strategies, and evaluation systems that support the ethical deployment of AI models in real-world healthcare settings. The group emphasizes multi-institutional collaboration, regulatory alignment, and sustainability to ensure long-term impact across the CTSA network.
