CCOS is pleased to announce a new page that houses projects from the Element E Clinical and Translational Science Research Program. The Element E program supports research addressing key challenges in clinical and translational science (CTS).  

The Element E page can be accessed from the Resources page or the Resources menu. Once UM1 Element E projects are added by CTSA hubs, they will be filterable and searchable by keyword in the Element E Directory. The submission form and Directory will be accessible to all CCOS users once logged in. Projects should be submitted by UM1 PIs or their teams and will be reviewed by CCOS for legitimacy and compliance. Approved projects will be added to the Directory. NCATS has updated its Strategic Plan and the Translational Science Principles! Head to the website to learn more about how these principles drive innovative approaches to accelerate the translation of biomedical research into real-world applications. 

The latest release to the CCOS website includes updates to the user registration form and user profiles. CCOS databases were updated with a revised list of organizations and hub-organization relationships to enable the automatic assignment of a user's CTSA hub based on their organization in the user registration form. The user profile page was also updated to enable a user to see if they use separate email addresses for CCOS login and CTSA group communications.

Users can now search the CCOS website by keyword to easily find information, documentation, and guidance. The CCOS website search feature is available from any CCOS webpage and results are returned in four categories: CTSA Groups and Meetings, Resources, News, and Help. Any material that requires a registered CCOS account will appear in the search results, but will not be accessible until the user logs in. Some content is not included in the search feature, including the CTSA Member Directory, the Pod Submission Archive, and the About page.

CCOS is accepting applications from CTSA hubs interested in co-hosting a Collaborative Workshop (CW) on a topic of their choice, with CCOS and NCATS. The winning application will receive planning support, guidance, coordination, speaker travel funding, and materials from CCOS for a one-day CW in spring of 2026. The CTSA Member Directory is now available via the Resources menu to registered users of the CCOS website. The CTSA Member Directory includes individuals with an active CCOS account or who actively participate in one of the CCOS-supported Enterprise Committees, Working Groups, Consortium Groups, or the Steering Committee. Once logged in, members’ institutions, hubs, and groups are available for browsing, and members can be identified by name or email.

The CTSA Program Annual Spring Meeting will take place April 14-17, 2025, with the goal of providing an opportunity for the CTSA Steering Committee, Enterprise Committees, and Program Groups to convene to support their goals, address priority or emerging public health issues, and share and define best practices across the consortium. Each group sets their own agenda for this meeting. More information can be found here.

• Overcoming Barriers in Women's Health Research

The CCOS website release version 1.27 included the development and release of the new Governance and Guidance page under the Resources menu. Users can easily access all CTSA Governance and Guidance documents from this page, including Guidance for CTSA Program Groups, Steering Committee Roles and Responsibilities, and CCOS Guidance for CTSA Surveys.

Registration is still open for the Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCT) Collaborative Workshop, scheduled for February 12, 2025, in Los Angeles, CA. The goals of this Collaborative Workshop will be to enable CTSAs to gain a common understanding of DCT, provide an opportunity to form teams around DCT research, and identify the ways the CTSAs have and can support DCT including the areas of building successful DCT and navigating the evolving landscape.
